“Alphotel Ettal offers a charming and cozy retreat in a beautiful alpine setting, though the exterior could benefit from some renovation. We stayed in a ground floor room, which was convenient as we were traveling with a dog. The view was still great, and we had direct access to the hotel's backyard. For some reason, we were asked to make a reservation for dinner even though it wasn't peak season. Despite this, they reluctantly provided us with a table. The food was good, with generous portions. Generally, there is enough parking, but during winter peak season, it might become an issue. Despite these minor inconveniences, our stay was enjoyable.”

“Breakfast: it was amazing, everything was fresh and tasty. Location: If you are driving during your visit, you’ll be fine, but without a car, it’s challenging to explore or reach restaurants and nearby attractions. We loved the location as it was so quiet and beautiful. Room: The room size was okay, and the bed was comfortable and clean. However, the bathroom was dated, and room amenities like the kettle could be improved. Spa: Since we got to the spa in the last hour, we didn’t use much of it, as the sauna was about to be turned off. The swimming pool was okay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you’re planning to visit Ettal or the surrounding area.”

“We had an amazing time at Alphotel Ettal! Erina at the front desk was fantastic—despite having some late-night tasks, she still made time to refill our beers and recommended the white sausage for breakfast (a must-try!). The room was spotless, with stunning views from the balcony, and the hotel was super welcoming to our dog. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had plenty of options. Overall, a really enjoyable stay, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful, relaxing getaway!”

“Just a perfect couple of days stay here: Spotless, nicely furnished rooms, well maintained facilities, everything from the high quality bed linen to the full breakfast setting was great, really one of the places that's a pity to continue your journey from. Dogs are welcome and right next to the hotel there's a path to the forest to walk your furry friend. Special thanks for the hotel crew for your kindness and hospitality!”
